Udekki may not be 5 star luxury – but it does have plenty of charm in its own special way! As guests have noted:
‘The accommodation is rustic and simple but with a lot of detail… the atmosphere and lovely food are the real luxury you get from staying at Udekki.’
‘Udekki is a wonderfully charming resort that oozes character and ambience…’
So with all this antiquity and rustic charm around, as well as being by the sea, and getting pounded by the wind during the windy season, there is always plenty of maintenance work going on behind the scenes!
Recently Udekki has been a hive of activity! There’s the usual work as one season is finishing, and we are preparing for the next – repainting, fixing hinges and windows, rewiring, repairing pipes, reviving the garden. But there have also been some bigger projects – the staff bathrooms, the kitchen roof, etc.
If you’ve ever stayed at Udekki, you will know that Glen always has a little project on the go – or a not so little project! October last year, it was the beach hut; then the tennis court before Christmas; then replacing the roof and some renovations to Glen’s place upstairs in March and April this year.
Yes, two new ambalamas! And they’re already a big hit with guests! Providing shelter from the rain, wind and sun, they are great places for just chilling out or enjoying a meal with friends!
There’s some other work going on to… but you’ll have to wait until the next time you’re at Udekki to see what else has been happening!
